It’s member renewal time! GSSEF is offering an incentive for troops who renew for next year during the reward period. Which ENDS TOMORROW! |
| Here’s what you need to know: You need to complete your troop’s renewal during the week of April 1 – 7 in order to receive the renewal incentive |
| Every girl and adult who renews during the April 1 – 7 incentive period will receive a t-shirt and a patch |
| IMPORTANT: DO NOT RENEW YOUR GIRLS WHO SOLD 100 BOXES AND EARNED THE FREE MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL PROMOTION |
| Council will renew those eligible girls automatically. You may not see them renewed in myGS until after the incentive period is over, but they will automatically receive the shirt and patch. |
| Adults will need to be renewed during the April 1 – 7 incentive period. Please remember to renew both their membership and their volunteer role (using the drop down underneath their name in myGS) |
| Lifetime members will also be eligible for the incentive IF they renew their roles for MY2027 |
| | Double check that your login to myGS is working. (https://mygs.girlscouts.org) Ask your parents / adult caregivers to double-check or confirm their email addresses. Requests for size information for the t-shirts will go to the email addresses on file for the registered caregiver. Between April 1 and April 7, renew all adult volunteers and any girl members who did not meet the 100 box threshold for free membership. | It’s not too late – GSSEF is offering one-on-one support throughout the day tomorrow to help you earn those rewards. Click the button below to schedule a session, or you can always reach out to one of us on the service unit team for assistance. |

Girl Scout University 2026 |
Every year in the fall, Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida offers a program geared at volunteers called “Girl Scout University” — it’s kind of like a professional development day for Girl Scout leaders and volunteers.
It’s a day filled with workshops and group sessions geared toward both new and experienced leaders – offering sessions on topics like outdoor activities, songs and ceremonies, proper paperwork and procedures, conflict resolution, and more. It’s also an opportunity to meet and connect with leaders and volunteers from other service units.
In the past it has been held in Palm Beach County, and in Lake Worth, but GSSEF is considering taking Girl Scout University on the road and they are looking for our input. Specifically, they would like to know if we would be interested in participating in a Girl Scout University session if it was offered a little closer to us, like in Martin, St Lucie, Okeechobee, or Indian River counties.
They would also like to know what kind of topics you might find interesting or subjects for workshops that you might find helpful. |

Phew! We made it! Thanks for sticking with me to the bitter end! Hey, did you know that “the bitter end” refers to the end of an anchor rope on a boat? The anchor rope is tied off to a bollard or a “bitt” – a vertical post used for securing lines to the deck. The end of an anchor rope was often flagged to indicate that you had run out of rope. So if you are paying out anchor line and you reach “the bitter end” then you have officially reached “the end of your rope.”
And so have we! Our next meeting will be our volunteer appreciation dinner on Monday, May 11. Please join us then! |
