There are some VERY IMPORTANT CHANGES to the booth lottery process for night 2 and going forward, so please read this through!
Night 2 of the booth lottery is TONIGHT, Monday January 27 at 6:30pm using our regular meeting Zoom link (password: Gemini)
The lottery method is being changed due to the ineffectiveness of the Online Draft site and taking way too long to get through! The rest of this season we will be using a simple Excel spreadsheet and a Zoom call. Here’s how it will go:
- Excel spreadsheet is linked here with the picks listed that we did thus far and the remaining open slots up until February 9. The draft order (same as last week) will be in the far right column. Please verify that I have correct names/troop numbers listed (and the incorrect/duplicate ones crossed out).
- When your name/troop number is called, state your picks so they can be recorded. The days and places have been separated and sorted alphabetically as well as color coded (for Fort Pierce and Okeechobee) for easy viewing. Please have your picks ready (as well as backups if you’re not keeping track of others) for when your troop is called, so we can move along at a faster pace! You can follow along on your own spreadsheet to see what booths have been picked and by who. I HIGHLY recommend a laptop/ipad/computer for this so we’re not taking up valuable time trying to look at it on a little phone.
- For two rounds we’ll do 2 picks per round for troops with less than 15 girls; 4 picks per round for troops with 15 or more girls, then after that we’ll do 3 picks per round for troops with less than 15 girls; 5 picks per round for troops with 15 or more girls.
- Booths are not to be chosen in back to back slots in the same round – for example: Walmart Gatlin Grocery 2p-4p and then 4p-6p. If the 4p-6p is still open on your next time picking you can choose it then. You could however pick Walmart Gatlin Retail 4p-6p.
- This week’s draft we’ll be picking booths from January 30 through February 9. Once we’re done, Barbara (or Joe ) will post the updated list/email it to everyone so everyone can double-check their picks and troops can begin contacting us on Tuesday for any additional booths they wish to add on after that.
- It has been a long and tedious process to enter in all of these booths so please double check my work ahead of the draft so we can correct any mistakes beforehand and, again, not waste valuable time! If you secured booths, please double check to make sure dates/times are input right. And everyone please double check that your picks from last week were entered correctly. Those that had duplicates were contacted already and corrections were made.
Ashley Ford Voss -you have to make 3 new picks due to an error with Taylor Creek Publix-please contact Barbara to do so. - I’m hoping this goes a lot better and LOT faster and I apologize for last week (at least for our part in the delay of it). Please be on the Zoom call at 6:30p – link information is in the Cookie Lottery Night 2 event.
As for the booths themselves – REMINDER – booths do not start until THURSDAY, JANUARY 30!!
I sadly got texts and messages this weekend of tables and booths being set up already. This is not fair, this is not honest, this is not permitted, and it is not allowed by the businesses themselves! You are risking the entire Service Unit not being allowed at that location again if we don’t follow the rules and adhere to the documents we’ve signed with them.
Do not set up booths ANYWHERE until January 30! And only set them up when you’re assigned that specific booth.
Lastly…don’t forget the Cupboard Delivery! on Tuesday, January 28 at 9am. As much help as we can get is needed!
