March Leader Meeting Recap

It’s a busy time here in the Gemini Service Unit!  Here’s what’s upcoming and what to keep an eye on.

Adult Recognition Award Nominations Due March 13

Do you know an adult volunteer who has gone above and beyond this past calendar year?  Do you have someone in your troop or service unit that you think deserves special recognition?  

Nominations for the GSSEF Adult Recognition Awards are still open until next week, so get those nominations in!  Information about the awards, eligibility requirements, and more are at the link below.

If you have questions about eligibility for a specific person, please reach out to Joe or Barbara – we can look them up and let you know what they have already received and what award they might be eligible for.

And if you need help writing an endorsement letter, anyone on the service unit team would be happy to help!

St Patrick’s Day Parade – March 14

Gemini Service Unit – You’re Invited!
Join us as we walk in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade on March 14th at 3:00 PM! (line up time is 2 hours prior to parade start – 1pm)

Girls should wear their vest or sash, closed toe shoes, along with any other festive green attire they’d like to add to celebrate!

We are allowed to pass out candy (no throwing — hand it out only).
Everyone is welcome — let’s show up, shine bright, and represent Gemini Girl Scouts with pride!

This is a Service Unit event that all girls are welcome to attend. If you wish to attend, you’ll need to contact the point person, Melanie Caramma, directly for all specifics as far as line up location, etc. Her number is: 772-209-9618

Gemini Ingathering 2026 – March 27 – 29

Ingathering planning is moving forward, and it looks like it’s going to be an awesome camp weekend full of fun, creativity, and camp activities.

If you missed the opportunity to join us this year, keep an eye out for next year!  

Vet Fest at Mid-Florida Event Center – April 4

Fun family event! Would love to see girls come out in their vests/sashes and show support for our Veterans.

We may have a table or wagon there to pass out Cookies for the Military boxes (awaiting Council’s approval) if any girls are interested in helping to do this.

If anyone has older girls or high schoolers that need service hours, they are looking for volunteers to help assemble the traveling wall from 10a-2p. (See flyer below)

DBJ Space Science at the Hallstrom Planetarium – April 4

Get ready for an out-of-this-world adventure with the Gemini Girl Scouts!

Join us for a special Space Science event designed just for Daisies, Brownies, and Juniors. Scouts at these levels will have the opportunity to earn their Space Science badge while exploring the wonders of the universe in a fun and engaging environment.

Event Highlights:

An exciting planetarium show

Professional telescopes for real night-sky viewing

Interactive, hands-on activity stations to rotate through

A fun space-themed photo booth to capture the memories

Because we’ll be using professional telescopes, this event will take place in the evening so we can enjoy a darker sky. Please note that the planetarium can be chilly so Scouts should bring a sweatshirt and also wear the required closed-toe shoes.

The event will be held the day before Easter, as this was the only date available on the Planetarium’s schedule. We appreciate your understanding!

Registration Information:

Everyone attending must register — both Scouts and parents.

This event is limited to parents and registered Scouts only — no tagalongs.

Volunteers are needed for various booths if any adult or mature Seniors or Ambassadors are willing to help. Volunteers will not be charged the entrance fee.

$20 per person

Maximum of 70 seats available

This is a rain or shine event. Please note that no refunds will be issued if the event is canceled for any reason. If cancellation occurs, the event will be rescheduled in 2027.

We can’t wait to explore the stars together!

Law Day 2026 – May 2

One of Gemini’s signature events, Law Day, is back for 2026!

Mark your calendars for May 2 for girls of all levels to experience what it’s like to participate in a trial, alongside actual judges and attorneys.

This event relies heavily on input and planning from our Juniors, Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors.

If your girls would like to be in on the planning process, the first planning meeting will be at 6pm on March 31 at the Moose Lodge in Port St Lucie.
