Troop 42040 and 42050 are hosting their Friendsgiving Feast on Nov 18 and invited us all! If you haven’t grabbed a set at the table yet, there might still be time!
Reach out to Barbara McGrogan for more information or to RSVP
The Gemini Service Unit is cordially invited to join Troops 42040 & 42050 for a Girl Scout Friendsgiving Party! Have your girls make dishes to bring and complete steps towards the following badges:
Daisies – Be a Sister to Every Scout petal Brownies – Snacks badge Juniors – Simple Meals badge Cadettes – New Cuisines badge Senior – Locavore badge Ambassador – Dinner Party badge
This is a free event but petals and badges are the troop’s responsibility. Girls can join in with or without their troop – just have ratio parents. The girls have decided on an Alphabet Thanksgiving – each troop will pick a letter of the alphabet and they will bring an entree, appetizer, vegetable, fruit, drink, and dessert beginning with that letter. (If your troop has more than 10 girls, please bring 2 of each item to ensure enough food for all.)

Troop Camp Training – Feb 28, March 14-15 |
|
|
Troop Camp Training is a required course for leaders who want to take their troop camping: either as a troop or as part of a service unit camporee such as our annual Ingathering. Camp training is probably the second most important adult training to receive, after CPR / First Aid. This year’s TCT session is going to be in late February and mid-March, which bumps right up against our Ingathering dates. If your troop is getting their TCT trained volunteer at this session, please let us know as we begin planning Ingathering, so that we can work to integrate that into our planning. |

Leadership Opportunities for Older Girls |

There are two exciting upcoming opportunities for older girls to take part in the governance of GSSEF. Both of these roles may contribute to service and leadership awards for older Girl Scouts. |

Girl Advisory Board Membership |
|
|
Open to Seniors and Ambassadors – Application Due Nov 20
Have you ever wished you could give the “girl perspective” on issues related to Girl Scouting? Have you ever wondered about how some of the decisions are made for our Council? Serving as a Girl Advisory Member of the Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida Board of Directors is the perfect way to ensure that what is important to girls is considered. Being part of this important leadership team is also a great way to gain governance and management experience, and it looks pretty good on college and scholarship applications too! |
