Adult Recognition
The adult recognition nomination period is coming to a close. If you know someone that you would like to nominate for an award, please take look through the recognition packet and put a nomination forward. Nominations are due by March 15, and you can nominate someone by filling out this form.
Our leader appreciation dinner will be on May 24 at the Elk’s Lodge / Polish-American Club on Prima Vista in Port St Lucie. We’ll have a sock-hop theme!
Ingathering
Our day camp Ingathering is a GO!
March 26, 2022 – 8:00am check-in / 9:00am event begins
Reservations have been extended to the evening of March 7. Email Karyl to reserve your troop!
Please plan to carpool or drop-off. While there is a decent amount of parking, we are going to have a large group so limit cars when you can please. If you are dropping off, please collect all your girls before heading back into the camp.
We are outdoors, so masks will not be required but please have one on-hand for the bathroom or any other indoor time. Also keep safe practices; handwashing, physical distancing, etc in mind.
Don’t forget to send a travel application to council, and please send a roster to Karyl Bertram by the day of the event. There will be an activity that involves peanut butter, but accommodations will be made for anyone with a peanut allergy. Please inform Karyl of any participants with a peanut allergy. Any tagalongs will require an additional adult to supervise.
As in all Girl Scout events, closed-toe shoes that cover the entire heel and covered shoulders are required (modest tank tops are fine, no spaghetti straps or crop-tops please.)
Please pack a lunch and a water bottle for every participant. Bring sit-upons or an outdoor pillow to sit on. A hat and insect repellent are recommended.
Community Awards
We’d like to say “thank you” to the local businesses that support our troops both during cookie season and throughout the year. We are accepting donations of cookies (or money to purchase cookies) to donate to businesses who supported our girls. We also will accept letters of thanks or similar made by your girls to pass along. Contact Paty Ault for more information.
Recruitment Events
There are several recruitment events and special events happening in the near future. If you would like to help out at a recruitment event or would like some more information, reach out to Barbara McGrogan.
Texas Roadhouse – Dine to Donate event is tomorrow, March 8. Proceeds from meals tomorrow will benefit our service unit. Also, in recognition of Girl Scout week, any girl wearing a Girl Scout uniform vest will receive a discounted meal.
